The money provided by the SLFA is part of the FIFA Covid-19 relief support to over two hundred (200)member associations. 5th Islamic Solidarity Games rescheduled

The 5th Islamic Solidarity Games due to be held in Turkey next year have been rescheduled and will now start in September 2021, Turkey’s youth and sports minister announced on Saturday. The event will now take place on Sept. 10-19, instead of Aug. 20-29, in Turkey’s central Konya province, according to Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu. He said the games were pushed forward by three weeks due to the rescheduling of this year’s Tokyo Olympics, which have been postponed until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Olympics will start in Japan’s capital on July 23 next year and end on Aug. 8. “In this process, we will continue to carry out our work with determination. Real Mack football club has secured its first win in the ongoing western area football association-FNB competition against Wilberforce Strikers at the parade field.  The goal was scored in 55 minutes of play by Ibrahim Goba. Speaking at their training pitch at Angola Town, Coach Sankoh said he's excited to move to Real Mack and determined to take the club to the Sierra Leone Premier League. He said he's happy to join the Real Mack Empire and very impressed with what he has seen so far. SL-PLB to receive money on Monday

The minister of sport Ibrahim Nyelenkeh Koroma has on radio mercury breakfast sport pronounced that the Salone Premier League board will receive over one billion seven hundred million leones from his office on 10  February 2020.  He said the money has been released from the Finances ministry and with him for delivery to the league board. The minister revealed that the delay encountered in giving money earlier to this present board is due to procrastination from the previous board to present receipts to the Ministry of Finance on how money given to them was spent.  Since the 2019/20 Salone Premier League started the board has been finding it difficult to do their work due to lack of money.  According to reports at some point in the ongoing league the board had to put on hold bringing regional referees to officiate matches in Freetown.   Seventy-five million Leones was given to the fourteen Premier League clubs last year to start...

The head coach of Kenema's Kamboi Eagles football club, Alhaji Foray (Abedi) has disclosed to SL-Premier 90 on Radio Mercury that Kamboi Eagles will miss his presence during the match against East End Lions in Kenema. Internews that specializes in Media Trainings has selected ten  journalists through their fellowship program to work on various stories ideas outside the capital City of Freetown.   It could be recalled that on January 15th, 2020, Internews sent out a communique calling on interested journalist to apply for their fellowship program. Out of the hundreds that applied, ten  were selected on January 25th, 2020, at Country Lodge in Freetown. "National Division One League Play-offs put on hold because of court case"

By Muctar Koroma The Head of Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Ibrahim Kamara has disclosed that their decision to put on hold the National Division One League Playoffs was due to an ongoing legal issue in which an injunction was slammed by the High Court of Sierra Leone. He reckoned that after some consultation with their legal team, they were advised not to proceed with the playoffs until the matter is settle in or out of court.  Mr. Ibrahim revealed that issues of marginalization by some sections of the football fraternity was resolved in the last FA Congress held in Port Loko.
