Kamboi Eagles go 5 points clear at the top of the Sierra Leone Premier League

Kamboi Eagles Football club of Kenema have moved 5 points clear at the top of the League after defeating Old Edwardians in their backyard by one goal to zero. 

Kamboi Eagles who have played six games are comfortably leading the league standing with sixteen points(16) after 5 wins and 1 draw. 

The League leaders defeated Old Edwardians by one goal to zero at the Siaka Stevens Stadium. The only goal of the match was scored by Ron Gardin William in the 80th minute of play. 

The Eagles have won all their away matches played in Freetown. 

Kamboi Eagles have widened the gap in the standings after the Bo Rangers vs FC. Kallon match ended in a 1 all draw and defending League champions,  East End Lions faced a shocking defeat in the hands of Anti-Drugs FC. 


Kamboi Eagles have won six man of the match awards. Making them the team with the highest orange mobile phone award winners in the league after six games played. 

Kambio Eagles will face league defending Champions East End Lions on February 1, 2020, in Kenema City.

Sierra Leone head Coach names 25 foreign-based players.

Lack of home football league in Sierra Leone, has not stopped the head coach of Leone Stars John Keister, from including 10 home-based talents in his 35 man provisional squad, ahead of the African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) fixtures with Ethiopia, Ghana and Kenya. Sierra Leone won her first AFCON match against Kenya in Freetown, which was a big boost to kick-start the tight fixtures in September and October. Leone Stars head Coach John Kiester names 23 Man Squad for the AFCON qualifier against the 'Walyas' of Ethiopia

After naming a preliminary Squad of 35 Players the Head Coach of Leone Stars John Keister has cut the squad down to Twenty three (23) players ahead of the crucial Match against the ‘Walyas’. Despite no effective league playing in the country, there were places in the squad for young FC Johansen Goalkeeper Mohamed N Kamara, and defender Abu Suma former player for FC Johansen. UK trio based Alhaji Sesay who plays for Bristol City in England, Osman Kakay of Queens Park Rangers and Amadou Bakayoko of Coventry City were also named in the squad alongside long time absentee Sheka Fofanah who plays his international football for Al Nasr in the Oman professional elite league.
