The newly appointed Sierra Leone premier league board Chairman says he will resign

After his appointment as chairman of the Sierra Leone premier league Board legal Luminary, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai has confirmed to this medium that he would resigned  as chairman of the old Edwardians football club. Barrister Saffa said there will be conflict of interest to serve as board chairman and also head a premier league football club.  He said he would step aside in the main time, So that some else can serve as chairman of the club. “I love old Edwardians, I don’t want to see the club go down the drain. Prominent Old Edwardian Boost Saints Edwards Secondary school team

Ahead of the recommencement of the national school league football and volleyball competition former pupil of the Saints Edwards Secondary school Ahmed Sasso has on Tuesday, October 23rd 2018 donated to the  School football team. The items were presented  at the School Compound which attracted pupils, teachers and Principal of the School. Ahmidu Freaky Koroma who present the donation on behalf of Mr. Sasso, said the donation came as a result of rumors going around that the school football team is facing challenged with jerseys and other football equipment to participate in the school league football competition scheduled to commence October 30th, 2018. Chinese Ambassador conduct Site visit on Sierra Leone National Stadium.

On October 9, 2018, the Chinese Ambassador Wu Peng, together with the Economic and Commercial Counsellor Zhang Xueqian, paid a visit to Sierra Leone National Stadium to inspect the National Stadium Reinforcement Project. The project was funded from the Chinese government grant. During the visit Ambassador Wu Peng said the National Stadium is a landmark project supported by the Chinese government in the 1970s and acts as a symbol of China-Sierra Leone friendship. The rehabilitation of the stadium will greatly improve the conditions of public activities in Sierra Leone and serve the exercise needs of Freetown. “The construction company should not only pay close attention to the quality of the project and safety in construction, but should also take care of legitimate rights and interests of the local employees while pushy to complete the project on time”. Port Loko Member of Parliament set to revive Sierra Leone's oldest football club.

The honorable member of parliament for Constituency #75 in Port Loko district, Abdul Latif Sesay, has promised to transform Port Loko’s Bai Bureh Warriors football team. The Warriors have, for far too long, been inactive in football activities. According to Honorable Sesay, for a very long time the district football team has lacked behind in terms of football. He said that one of the major reasons responsible for that was the lack of financial support for the Warriors team. He confirmed that indigenes of Port Loko district who are in the diaspora have made commitments to support the team as a way of reviving sports in the district. “Football is dead in Port Loko district not only my constituency. National School League to kick start after four years absence

The National School League of Sierra Leone will recommence across the country, after four years of no sporting activities for school going pupils. The new government decided to allow the school going pupils to again engage in their annual School League competitions to identify young sporting talent for the country. The assistant director of physical health education at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Sahid Mohamed Conteh said that he has gone far with preparations for the competition to kick start this month. He said he has written letters to the various bodies concerned, so that they can have a successful school league competition after the long absence.   Mr. Conteh said he has written letters to the Inspector General of Police informing him about the kick start of the school leagues, so that the necessary security can be provided at the venues where the competitions will take place. CAF THREATENS SLFA ACTING PRESIDENT

The confederation of Africa football threatened the Acting president of the Sierra Leone football association  who attempted  to attend the confederation of Africa football 12th extraordinary general  Assembly which was held in the city of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt last month where CAF elected their   representative to the  football governing body FIFA executive council. According to the acting president of the Sierra Leone football association Brima Mazola Kamara he was received by CAF official who refused to identify himself and he was in the company of some CAF security.  Mr. Kamara said on arrival they handed him his return ticket and told him that CAF General Secretary has instructed them to send him back to Freetown.  “The reasons for the order for my abrupt return was not disclosed to me by CAF.
