CAF THREATENS SLFA ACTING PRESIDENT

The confederation of Africa football threatened the Acting president of the Sierra Leone football association  who attempted  to attend the confederation of Africa football 12th extraordinary general  Assembly which was held in the city of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt last month where CAF elected their   representative to the  football governing body FIFA executive council.

According to the acting president of the Sierra Leone football association Brima Mazola Kamara he was received by CAF official who refused to identify himself and he was in the company of some CAF security.

Mr. Kamara said on arrival they handed him his return ticket and told him that CAF General Secretary has instructed them to send him back to Freetown.

“The reasons for the order for my abrupt return was not disclosed to me by CAF. They only  said  they have negative information about me from Freetown”

Brima Mazola Kamara continued that he asked the security to help him speak with the CAF general secretary but he was refused the opportunity.

“They threatened to treat me like a criminal if I proceed to attend the congress” said Mazola.

When asked if he contacted the set aside president of the Sierra Leone football association Isha Johansen who is also an executive member in CAF for assistance, the acting president Mazola said he had been advised by the Anti-Corruption Commission of Sierra Leone not to deal with her.

The acting president of SLFA was former Sierra Leone’s football international, he was the first Sierra Leone player to play professional football outside the country.

Brima Mazola Kamara is one of the vice presidents of SLFA. He is in the acting capacity of the president of the football association because of corruption charges against the substantive president Madam Isha Johansen who is also the head of women football in Africa and member of the confederation of Africa football executive.
