The newly appointed Sierra Leone premier league board Chairman says he will resign


After his appointment as chairman of the Sierra Leone premier league Board legal Luminary, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai has confirmed to this medium that he would resigned  as chairman of the old Edwardians football club. Barrister Saffa said there will be conflict of interest to serve as board chairman and also head a premier league football club.  He said he would step aside in the main time, So that some else can serve as chairman of the club.

“I love old Edwardians, I don’t want to see the club go down the drain. Football is all about interest, those who have interest are the ones putting monies on it”

Mr. Saffa said he would subsequently join old Edwardian after his term as Board Chairman Ends. He said it is a welcoming news for the football family to bestowed this responsibility on me.

”serving as the Chairman of the premier league Board will be  difficult due to the fact that Sierra Leone has not played a national football league for the past five years”

Barrister Saffa, said his approach to achieve a successful football league is to allow  communities to own the league by playing premier league matches at community level.

The newly appointed Chairman of the premier league confirmed that the league  will kick start within five weeks.

Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai is a barrister and solicitor in the High Court of Sierra Leone. He has served as Chairman of Premier League Club, Old Edwardian's Football Club for the last seven 7 years.

The other appointed members in the board are seasoned mini league expert   Sama Sesay, James Fofanah Leone Star's coordinator, and Alhaji Samoura, Member head of Cooperate Banking Ecobank. with representatives from three Premier league clubs, RSLAF FC, FC Kallon, and FREETOWN CITY FC.
