Prominent Old Edwardian Boost Saints Edwards Secondary school team


Ahead of the recommencement of the national school league football and volleyball competition former pupil of the Saints Edwards Secondary school Ahmed Sasso has on Tuesday, October 23rd 2018 donated to the  School football team.

The items were presented  at the School Compound which attracted pupils, teachers and Principal of the School.

Ahmidu Freaky Koroma who present the donation on behalf of Mr. Sasso, said the donation came as a result of rumors going around that the school football team is facing challenged with jerseys and other football equipment to participate in the school league football competition scheduled to commence October 30th, 2018.

He said the former Pupil who is base in the U.S.A, is committed to support the school when the needs arises. 

Receiving the donated items the principal at the Saints Edwards Secondary School's Fredrick Wyse,  thanked Ahmed Sasso for supporting the school at a time when the school football team is facing Difficulties with jerseys.

He said that this is not the first time Mr. Sasso is making good gestures towards the school’s.

“we are looking for more assistances from former prominent Old Edwardians to help boost the physical health education department because they are constrained with sporting items”

The head of the physical health education Department at the saints Edwards School Patrick Kallon said they were pleased to receive such boost from alumnus and that such must be eliminated by others.

He assured that the school is going to win the School league competition.

Mr. Kallon confirmed that the physical department was really faced with series of challenges before the support came.

“more support are needed from other alumnus home and abroad to help the PHE department. We need support in the areas of volleyball, basketball, table Tennis, athletic and football”

The national school's league football and volleyball competition would kick start on October 30 2018, with Saint Edwards School locking-on with the Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood on November 9 2018.

Ahmed Sasso, was former Pupil of Saints Edwards Secondary School. He was ex-player of the school premier league football club Old Edwardian.

Mr. Sasso who is presently coaching youth teams in America, is a seasoned expert in youth coaching development.

Sierra Leone head Coach names 25 foreign-based players.

Lack of home football league in Sierra Leone, has not stopped the head coach of Leone Stars John Keister, from including 10 home-based talents in his 35 man provisional squad, ahead of the African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) fixtures with Ethiopia, Ghana and Kenya. Sierra Leone won her first AFCON match against Kenya in Freetown, which was a big boost to kick-start the tight fixtures in September and October. Leone Stars head Coach John Kiester names 23 Man Squad for the AFCON qualifier against the 'Walyas' of Ethiopia

After naming a preliminary Squad of 35 Players the Head Coach of Leone Stars John Keister has cut the squad down to Twenty three (23) players ahead of the crucial Match against the ‘Walyas’. Despite no effective league playing in the country, there were places in the squad for young FC Johansen Goalkeeper Mohamed N Kamara, and defender Abu Suma former player for FC Johansen.
