Fourteen Clubs are set to take Part in this year's Former President Ernest Bai Koroma Trophy
The eight edition of the Ernest Bai Koroma trophy will kick start in the northern part of Sierra Leone on the 4th of November 2018 at the Wusum playing filed in Makeni.
This year’s former President Koroma's trophy will feature 14 teams in the northern region and a representative club from the East, Kono district.
As a way to support and empower the clubs taking part in the competition Seed monies were distributed to all fourteen clubs on October 31, 2018 in Makeni.
Giving his address, The Chief coordinator of the EBK trophy Milton Koroma, said the Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma trophy is a platform created to give opportunity to football players to display their talent.
He said last year they assured Sierra Leonean that even when the former president would have left office the trophy will continue.
Mr. Milton, maintained that the EBK trophy will kick start between Wusum Stars of Makeni and Bullom Stars of Lungi and will be grace by the founder of the competition which is the Leader of the Opposition in parliament Honourable Chernoh Maju Ramanda Bah, the former president Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and dignitaries from the past government.
He confirmed that the EBK trophy final will take place on the 25th December, 2018.
The fourteen Clubs that are expected to take part in this year's EBK trophy are Wusum stars, Area Best FC, Tom FC, Ocean Boys, Shooting Stars, Kolifa Stars, Kabala lions, Makellah Stars, Bulom Stars, Fc Katarah, Bamoi FC, and Kono district Flamingo FC.
The winner of the 2017 Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma’s trophy take home fifteen millions Leones and the runners up ten million Leones.
