Sierra Leone's male U-20 team, the Shooting Star, on Friday November 29, 2019 fulfilled their twin ambition with their final group game at the ongoing WAFU U20 championship.

The shooting stars secured a 3-2 win over hosts Guinea in the keenly contested game played in Conakry.

Goals from Daramy Sesay and double from Suffian Kalokoh turned out to be a perfect  Friday’s encounter as the Shooting Stars zoomed into the semi-final of the  West Africa football union  U20 Championship.

Before Friday’s game, Coach Abubakarr Toasta Kamara had confessed that the game against the host was most crucial for the shooting stars who earlier defeated Mauritania and lost to Senegal in their opening match.

“This is our most important match of the tournament so far. There would be no looking back. We are playing the host team but our minds are made up to go all out. Only a win can guarantee us a place in Semifinal. Said coach Toaste

“Of course, we noticed a few things in the first two matches we played. The corrections we have made would help us greatly in Friday’s match.” He had assured.

They have however delivered with the win over their counterparts Guinea.

This is the first time  Sierra Leone U20 team  is defeating Guinea in their backyard.

Shooting Star Sufian Kalokoh continue his good performance in the WAFU Championship winning back to back man of the match.

Sierra Leone awaits the result from the match between Senegal and Mauritania to know who they sealed their places along with in the semifinal.
