Preview: Mighty Blackpool VS FC. Kallon

By Muctar Koroma.

FC. Kallon coach Amidu Karim has urged his players to seize a “fantastic opportunity” when they face local rivals Mighty Blackpool  in the Sierra Leone Premier League.

Few will fancy Blackpool  to triumph at Siaka Stevens Stadium today given the stiff challenge for  the Premier League this season, not to mention the fact that Blackpool has not won a Freetown-Western  derby in their last two meetings with FC. Kallon.

But Blackpool coach Chernor Jalloh sees no reason to fear; "Everything has to be perfect. You must work hard, sacrifice, show intensity — to beat them your game has to be complete."

Jalloh emphasised, " you cannot defend for 90 minutes, and we do not want to defend for 90 minutes. We want to have the possibility to play our football and get the three points in today's match."

Mighty Blackpool has played three matches in the ongoing Premier league drew two and lost one, presently in twelve position with two points.

Following winning over Port Authority, it seems likely Amidu Karim will field a strong team in the match, while the indications are that Chernor will rotate his young lads.

“Every derby is a special game,” Chernor  said, “I know how different this game is. Of course Kallon is the favorite, but in a derby you never know what will happen. We need to have confidence to move on from this match, everyone knows is important."

FC. Kallon defeated Mighty Blackpool home and away in 2018/19 premier league.

The Cavallies have played three matches drew two and won one  presently in the  fourth position a win for FC. Kallon will see them move to the top three in the Sierra Leone premier league standings.

Amidu Karim, revealed that their main focused is to chase  the teams  ahead of them in the table, and they are going for all three points in the match against Mighty Blackpool.

If Blackpool fail to win against FC. Kallon it will be their worst start to a premier league season in Sierra Leone.
