East End Lions coach confident of turning things around
After a poor start to the 2019/20 Sierra Leone Premier League season, head coach of East End Lions John Kiester, says he is confident his side will turn around the poor run of results in the season.
Kiester's side has struggled to win a game in their opening two clashes; losing one and drawing one.
The gaffer believes that the league is still young for his side to turn things around with the coming games.
Speaking at their training ground, the league champions coach said two matches aren't enough to do any assessment on his lads’ new football season because they have a long way to go.
“It's always going to be difficult after winning a league and come back because other teams are prepared and determined to get you off the top," he said.
Coach Kiester, revealed that on their first game he didn’t think they were that prepared to face Port Authority FC, which they lose by one goal to zero.
He said they didn’t realize what the match would look like but in the Blackpool match they progress to where they were in the last league.
“The unbeaten broken by Port Authority means nothing because, in football you play for three things. Win, draw, or loss."
The East End Lions coach assured supporters of the club that they are going to keep progressing, as it’s a long season and just two matches have been played.
Commenting on players signed during the transferred window, coach John Kiester, said he’s impressed and satisfied with the players bought by the club.
"All we are doing now as a technical team is trying to integrate these players in the system of Lions.
“In football, people should understand that everything is time it doesn’t happen overnight or magic. It's work on the training ground every day and hopefully the players can respond," he added.
East End Lions were crowned Champions of the 2018/19 Salone Premier League with an unbeaten run.
