Challenge Cup; East End Lions and FC. Kallon to battle it out.

Cordiality is rare in sports but Amidu Karim did not hesitate to call John Kiester "A good coach". The FC. Kallon Coach was speaking of the nemesis the East End Lions side brought on him after they won the last League whilst they (FC Kallon) secured the second spot in the league. 

The Lions, and the Cavallies  coaches cannot afford to be obsessed with one another in any case, even if a measure of rivalry is inescapable. Each coach has a broader task ahead of him. 

East End Lions encounter with FC. Kallon in the  Challenge cup on Sunday, December 1, 2019. Might give some insight in to the future of these teams. 

East End Lions won the 2018/19 premier league unbeaten.  

Coach Keister's wish to open up another phase of his time at Lions with a win over Kallon. East End Lions has put pen to paper for some good and young players with prospect to add more pace, energy and tempo to its squad.

 During the transfer window  Lions has completed the signing of  FC. Kallon's midfield maestro - Ibrahim Kabba and their highest goals scorer in the last premier league Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) who was on loan to them from AIK.

Ahead of the challenge cup with FC. Kallon, East End Lions has unveiled their  new players, jersey, and announced a  target of five billion Leones as money needed to run the club for the new premier league season. 

The Chairman of East End Lions Anthony Junior Navo in their unveiling ceremony,   revealed that they have achieved thirty percent  of the five billion Leones target.

"Our target for the new leagues season is to win the premier league back-to-back. As an executive we're calling on our fans, players, and coaches to keep their eyes on the bigger picture" Navo revealed.

FC. Kallon has failed to win against Lions in their last  two meeting in competitive match. 

The Cavallie suffered back-to-back defeat in the hands of the killers in the last premier league. 

FC. Kallon want to put an emphasis on youth development, even if it will be quite a while before anyone confuses the club.

 FC. Kallon has released some of it experience players to their arch rival.  Gibrilla  Kamara to BO Rangers,   Mohamed Alimamy Bundu and Ibrahim Kabba all  to East End Lions.

Will FC. Kallon overturn their defeat against East End Lions in the premier league or would East End Lions continue its winning streak  against Kallon FC?

Amidu Karim, the  coach of FC. Kallon has said they are not interested in what happens outside their team. 

“My lads are well focused to deliver the desired result come Sunday. We're aware of the danger Lions posed, but we have learned from the back-to-back defeat in the premier league” said Amidu Karim.

The challenge cup is played as a way of welcoming the Salone premier league  which will commence on December 4, 2019, at the Siaka Stevens Stadium between Mighty Blackpool and FC. Johansen. 

East End Lions was crowned Champions of the Salone premier league with 50 points out of 24  matches played. While FC. Kallon maintain Runners-up  in the league table with 46 points out of  24 games played.

Sierra Leone head Coach names 25 foreign-based players.

Lack of home football league in Sierra Leone, has not stopped the head coach of Leone Stars John Keister, from including 10 home-based talents in his 35 man provisional squad, ahead of the African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) fixtures with Ethiopia, Ghana and Kenya. Sierra Leone won her first AFCON match against Kenya in Freetown, which was a big boost to kick-start the tight fixtures in September and October. Leone Stars head Coach John Kiester names 23 Man Squad for the AFCON qualifier against the 'Walyas' of Ethiopia

After naming a preliminary Squad of 35 Players the Head Coach of Leone Stars John Keister has cut the squad down to Twenty three (23) players ahead of the crucial Match against the ‘Walyas’. Despite no effective league playing in the country, there were places in the squad for young FC Johansen Goalkeeper Mohamed N Kamara, and defender Abu Suma former player for FC Johansen. UK trio based Alhaji Sesay who plays for Bristol City in England, Osman Kakay of Queens Park Rangers and Amadou Bakayoko of Coventry City were also named in the squad alongside long time absentee Sheka Fofanah who plays his international football for Al Nasr in the Oman professional elite league.
