".....Is this a sign that Junior Bio would be made Team manager of Leone Stars? "

There is an adage which says, ‘’what an old man sees when sitting a child can’t see even when standing.’’

Having said that, it is no secret to many Sierra Leoneans that the current team manager Christian Dauda has been doing well with regards transforming and rebranding the national team Leone Stars. TM Christian Dauda was appointed as Leone stars team manager in 2017. He took over the team at a time when many described the performance as way below per and conditions of services for the players are deplorable. Some of those challenges militated against the team then especially in front of other African countries.

The impeccable personality of this gentleman has added grease to the elbow of the players, making them to look uniformed, attractive and full of respect when now on the international stage.

TM Christian Dauda has demonstrated his love, passion and enthusiastic character towards his team. The recent visit to Ethiopia can justify that. This has left some to describe him as the best team manager the country has had in recent times.

Notwithstanding this glamorous achievement from the TM, the recent traveling to Ethiopia consisting of forty-two (42) officials (both players and technical team) has left a debate back home. From the number, to the personalities included in the traveling sheet.

*Amongst those is Junior Bio*. 

Junior Bio is a Sierra Leonean who has over the years showed his love for the game of football and has as well involved into politics but unfortunately lost. Well many say it has some constitutional flaws. That is a discussion for another day.

Was he supposed to be part of the delegation to Ethiopia?

Let us for argument sake say yes, as a football loving Sierra Leoneans.

But again, was he supposed to be given the kind of attention by even going to the extent of wearing the official delegation suit?

This has been the debate.

As a journalist having the nose, eyes and curiosity for news and having listened to even officials at the ministry of sports in Sierra Leone it is possible that he was sent to understudy the current team manager. I use the word possible; based on closed discussions with key football stakeholders one can read in-between the lines.

The ‘possible awaiting team manager’ of Leone Star’s Junior Bio was former football player, who played his football for division-one club Brookfield united and one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and biggest premier league teams Mighty Blackpool.

Will he be a bad appointment? I do not think so. Even some staff at the sports ministry see him as a possible replacement for the current team manager Christian Dauda and also a good appointment to boast the moral of the team.

Least I forget without been political, he is the nephew to the current president of Sierra Leone his Excellency Julius Madaa Bio.

So in a situation this ‘possible observation’ occur, will the removal of TM Dauda affect the team based on the relationship he has built with the players over the years?

If Christian Duadu is to be sacked what would be the possible implications on the Leone Stars team to qualify for the 2019 Africa cup of nations in Cameroon? Just like any Sierra Leonean these questions have been playing in our minds.

One would say the current performance of the team is not too far from ok but at the same time we await the possible appointment of Junior Bio.
