“As an association we can only take care of providing air tickets for two participant but challenged on the issue of accommodation and per-day-em for the swimmers and officials”.

Mohamed Turay said they are yet to receive support from the government even when they had submitted their calendar of event to the ministry of sports.

He said that amongst the various disciplines in the Sierra Leone both swimming and cricket have been flying high the image of the country internationally but they are yet to receive any support from the ministry of sports.
“Joshua Wyse will be representing the country in Algeria with one coach who will accompany him to the Africa swimming competition scheduled to begin on the 10th to the16th of September 2018”.

He called on the government and cooperate businesses to support their travel as their delegation will leave Freetown on Saturday.  Joshua wyse will take part in the 50meters breaststroke, 50meters freestyle and 100meters freestyle.

Expressing his delight young swimmer Joshua Wyse said he is ready and well prepared to make Sierra Leone proud in Algeria. He said he is aware of  how much  Sierra Leoneans are expecting medal from the swimming association which he is  determined to do,  but said he’s more focus on   improving   his  time.
He called on the government to pay attention to the swimming association as they deserve better treatment from the government and the people of Sierra Leone.

The young swimmer Joshua Wyse is on the verge to win FINA scholarship which would automatically qualified him to swim in Tokyo 2020 Olympic game in Japan.
