The WAFU general secretary has confirmed that the facilities for the hosting of the WAFU U-17 meet the required standards

In a bid to ensure the country's sporting facilities are suitable for the impending WAFU U-17 female competition, a team of officials from WAFU led by the scribe Jammeh  Bojan visited the country on Monday August 13 2018, to assess the country's preparedness to stage the Zone A WAFU U-17 female competition.
The secretary general of WAFU Jammeh Bojan in a press conference held at the Country Lodge hotel in Freetown, August 16 2018,  he said they inspected stadium, hotel, training facilities in Bo, Makeni and Kono and found them in a satisfactory state.
Bojan’s said he felt satisfied with the facilities inspected so far and can authoritatively say all the facilities seen are in good shape for the tournament.
He singled out the Diamond hotel in Kono because of its uniqueness and delighted to know that the receptionist in all the hotel they visited were professional who know how to handle guest.
Bojan furthered said everything they saw in Bo, Makeni and Kono resemble what they have in the Gambia. he advised sports journalist to report the positive sides of the tournament.
 He said with what they have seen they would identified more project to come to Sierra Leone.
He thanked Madam Isha Johansen for encouraging WAFU to choose Sierra Leone to host the tournament.
In her own part the president of the Sierra Leone football association Isha Johansen thanked the WAFU secretary general for visiting Sierra Leone and said now that they have  approved the venues, the onus is on us and Journalist to report the good things about the country and stop personality attack.
She remind the journalist that they are the conscious of the nation.
“We the football administrator can do our  bit pull our string but at the end of the day it’s the responsibility of the sports journalist to propagate the good thing about the country”
Madam Isha called on sports journalist to work for the country and not for themselves and people who may dislike her administration.
“Let celebrate and put Sierra Leone on the map”
The SLFA president assured the Eight West African countries coming for the tournament of Sierra Leone's readiness to welcome them to the country and show them the beauty of the country and its rice culture.
A High powered delegation  of West Africa football team of officials headed by the president of the west Africa football union Amaju Pinnick  are expected to grace the opening match of the first  WAFU U-17 tournament in Sierra Leone on November.
The WAFU U-17 female tournament is Sierra Leone first and biggest international football tournament ever to be hosted in the country.
 Football fans within the host cities are enthusiastic to welcome other West Africa Countries.
Nine countries are expected to take part in the Eleven day football tournament.
