Leone Stars Team Manager expressess optimism ahead of African Cup of Nations qualifier against The Walyas of Ethopia
It could be recalled that Leone stars took on the Lone Stars of Liberia in a friendly Match at the Samuel K Doe Sport Complex in Monrovia in celebration of Liberia’s independence day.
Leone Stars played to a Goalless draw in a highly competitive match and the Team Manager of Leone Stars is anticipating a successful outing for the Leone Stars against The Walyas of Ethopia after a successful victory in Sierra Leone's opening match against Kenya.
The Team Manager Christian Dauda said the Leone Stars Technical team headed by Coach John Keister has been working tirelessly with the Stars to keep them physically fit and mentally prepared ahead of the match against Ethiopia despite there is no effective league playing in the Country for the last four years.
In the last Friendly Match Leone Stars played against the Lone Stars of Liberia the Team Manager played a pivotal role in bringing back two foreign based players who were long time absentees in the Leone Stars call up.
Alie Sesay a former Arsenal & Leicester City Academy Graduate and Mustapha Dumbuya who had got spells with Portsmouth and St Patrick in the United Kingdom.

Players like Kei Kamara, Julius Woobay, Umaru Zengalay Bangura who is the Skipper have always been dedicated servants to Leone Stars for over a decade now". Christian Dauda emphasized
He said the older players in Leone Stars are desperate to qualify the Team for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon as this could likely be their last chance to qualify the National Team for the Nations Cup.
TM Christian Dauda further spoke of the task at hand which he said upon assuming the job his main priority is to qualify the Team for the AFCON as the last time Leone Stars qualified for the African Cup of Nations was in South Africa 1996.
He called on the Nation to rally behind the National Team Leone Stars and the new government under the leadership of His Excellency Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio to give their constant support to Leone Stars in the qualifying series as they will be having upcoming Matches against Ethiopia, Ghana and Kenya.
